Where is the best food in TJ???

Tijuana has some first rate sushi. A few years ago a guy running a popular sushi house in San Diego's Pacific Beach lost his lease. Since he had a Mexican gf he opened Sushi House in TJ's Zona Rio. (It's good, but I prefer Komasa.) There's nothing to fear when eating sushi in TJ.

Serloin Stockade is a good place if you want a lot of food at a discounted price. It's like a Sizzler, but with a little better food.

Now that I know where to find meatloaf, where can I find a turkey dinner in TJ?

I had meatloaf twice this week at the Serloin Stockade, which is next to Plaza Carasouell(I know I killed the spelling)...In front of the Sirloin Stockade is a Peter Piper Pizza that has a buffett daily from 11am to 5pm, and serves a variety of pizza, spaghetti, salad, a dessert bread, and ice cream..I think it is about $6 with drink.

MonteCarlos (next to Adelitas) has good food. Some nice eye candy too.

However, the best food in Tijuana isn't in the ZN or downtown. The best places are in Zona Rio or on Agua Calientes (near the Tijuana Grand Hotel.)

On another site I've reviewed a lot of the high end restaurants in TJ. IMHO Tijuana has some first rate restaurants that would hold their own in any American city.

You asked if you'll find "American food." I think that depends on what you consider "American food." You probably won't find meatloaf, turkey, etc. but you will find American fast food, steak, pizza, etc. If you want "American food" you can try TGIF Fridays, Applebees, or Bob's Big Boy plus any of the places serving US fast food. You will also find some excellent Contential food as well as Chinese, Italian, Japanese, Spanish, and Greek food in TJ. (Komasas is my favorite for sushi.)

Since you are going to be in the ZN and hence near downtown try La Costa on 7th between Revolucion and Constitucion It has some decent seafood; I recommend the filet of fish olivia.

If you must have "American food" on Revolucion you'll find Burger King, KFC, and Carl's Jr.

Tj has more to offer than just the Zona Norte. Good food--at decent prices--is one of many finds tourists can enjoy while visiting Tijuana.

I love sushi almost as much as mexican hookers, but raw fish in TJ dosn't sound like that great of an idea to me.

PS: I truely guess they are much better options than street tacos.

PPS: We Mexicans call the street tacos out side the clubs the "One Block Tacos" cause you can only walk one block before you either vomit, get diarreah or just plain die.

I've never eaten at the massageplanete next to Adelitas - but several times I was whistled in for the purpose of picking up the tab for a favorita who spotted me walking past as she was finishing up her meal there

This a bit of a challenge as there are numerous nice places with Mexican-type fare in and around La Zona.

I'd say the best restaurant fitting your request would be the seafood restaurant called La Perla. It's on the Northwest corner of Coahuila & Nino Heroes (kinda across Nino Heroes from Bar Tropical). But most of their meals are served with the standard rice and beans on the side. And beware of the loud band musicians that drop in there with little warning.

Better TJ restaurants are generally found outside La Zona.

I really liked Tei Sushi on Paseo de los Heroes. Very clean and nice place, was taken their by a civillian chica. This is in Zona Rio tho, but a nice change from the tourist area.

Dude..the Montecarlo resturant is awesome- try shrimp ranchero they make fresh juice and icecream drinks! If you want up$cale try the LaCoasta Seafood off Rev for that Lobster feast ! Are you attending the Ballet this weekend?-Spike

Has anyone ate at the massageplanete next to Adelitas......what food is there??
Im thinking about planning a few days in TJ and Im wondering if they have any American food venues......Like Sushi. The only food I have eaten is the street tacos.....which are great but Im wondering if there is any other good places in the Zona or nearby?
