Taking a break...

Hello fellow massageplanet.net hobbyists,

I mentioned in a post a couple of weeks ago that I had met a woman who I am becoming increasingly more and more interested in as time goes on. As a result, I've decided to take a break from the hobby... partly out of respect (although there is no way she knows), partly out of guilt, and partly because I would rather spend some of the $$$ on her.

I had considered 1 or 2 more sessions before beginning this break, but have now decided that the only way is to go cold turkey.

We all begin this hobby for different reasons, but I can't begin to tell you how amazing this board has been for me, and I appreciate all of the sharing of opinions over the past few months. The majority of you have been great resources to me, and I hope that I have been able to return the favour occasionally.

I'll probably lurk for a while, and may even submit the occasional post, however since I won't be actively involved in the hobby, it wouldn't be right for me to spout off on everything.

I'll miss my favourite MPA's too (Tarah@ HFH, Sandi @ AC, Layla @ Body & Soul, Claudia @ Allure, and recently added Alannah @ BP), however as with pool returning recently, I fully expect this "break" to only last a few months while I see where this new thing is going.

Re: the BBQ. I am not sure. Initially I thought about delaying this until after the BBQ, but then I decided on the cold turkey approach. The event sounds like a lot of fun, and I would love to meet you guys in person, but I don't think I have the willpower to just come for a burger (especially if Alanna is there that day). lol. I'll have to think more about it over the next couple of weeks.

I'm with Tinop. If you don't break 'cold turkey' and devote your entire attentions to the new squeeze, then you're not serious ! Wait while she leads you away from us (and then eventually deposits you back in the warm care of massageplanet.net Psychiatry Inc.)

Lurking will only draw you back sooner rather than later.

HI Kyle, I found myself in the same boat in mid-April and I haven't jumped ship yet.

My advice is to stay way from the MP's altogther. And I have also cut down BIG TIME on checking out this FANTASTIC BOARD.

The best thing is not to read to many posts about the HOT girls out there, but I do follow a few, just in case.

Thanks for all the advice and support guys. I had plenty of opportunities on the weekend to go to an MP, but stayed strong. I'm usually pretty good with these types of things... when I make a decision I stick to it (lost 60 lbs. last year after finally waking up one day and saying "enough is enough"... joined a gym later that day and have never looked back).

So I think I can still lurk and see what is going on.

If you really want out though............I'm not sure the lurking thing is a good idea. Have a little 'history' with the addictive mindset and if you're anything like me dabbling just won't cut it.

If have tried to quit in the past, but have failed. Now, I am hopeful that my current hiatus will be permanent. Although I agree that lurking is typically not a good thing when trying to quit, I believe (hopefully not naively) that it won't bring me back. For me, the difference right now is that aside from all of the obvious reasons in the past that have motivated me to quit, I have had such incredible experiences with a select group of outstanding women that I figure that I have "experienced it all". Yes, I suppose that there will always be the new "all-star" that will pop up, I know that it can't be any better than what I have already enjoyed. It is time for me to take control of my life and move on...

Well guys, Interesting. I vowed much the same as Kyle when things with my lady got serious. I managed to stay out of the MP's for the most part in the beginning, but then I found myself on massageplanet.net on and off and bam..I was hooked again. Kyle, to be more realisitic; take the time to explore your new woman. Mine is fabulous in that I don't really need anyone else to provide anything I am not getting at home EXCEPT just the thrill. It is that little excited feeling you get in an MP that your woman at home eventually wont always provide. Home is comfort and your lady at home provides you a different and equally fullfilling feeling, but MP's are just different. I hate admitting I go to them at all in a way, but I love that feeling and once in a while is ok. The fact money is tight as hell right now has helped keep me just lurking and commenting on here, but I know I need a fix to just sort of confirm to me what I have at home. Good luck Kyle, but I don't think there is a permanent retirement until you just couldn't care less about sex...like that is gonna happen???

First, I need to warn you all that this post could get lengthy.

You all have made great points, and your advice is well taken. Knowing my personality, I don't think reading this board or any other would make a difference with me. My use of this board has never been to go see an MPA because of a certain thread; rather, I love to debate/discuss with all of you, and when I find an MPA I like the look of, I think its great to be able to search and see what types of things other members have stated.

The news of this post is that I "slipped" a little yesterday - but not with an MP, rather with a SP for the first time (Crystal from "A Perfect Lady Escorts" - reviews in the Escort section of massageplanet.net are very positive and very accurate, FYI).

And this is probably bad for me - something I need to think a lot about, because I absolutely LOVED the experience. When I first graduated from strip clubs to MP's, I asked myself why I hadn't done it sooner as I couldn't believe what all I had been missing. After seeing a SP for the first time, I asked myself the exact same thing.

So here's my real issue, as I'm starting to think that the girl I am seeing may not be the only factor here. It likely is the same as with strip clubs a couple of years ago... like with certain dancers, I discovered MPA's with higher than average mileage, and it left me wanting more all the time. So rather than spending every penny I had seeing MPA's and discovering how far I could push the limit, I made an excuse and tried to stay away. Then I found myself reading the Escort board more than Massage, and after discovering reviews of Crystal a few days ago, I knew I had to try a SP.

Bearlythere makes a great point in the previous post. Like with 99.9% of the male population, none of us hobbyists could ever get to the point where we stopped loving sex, and the excitement of MP's and SP's is the main motivating factor for the majority of us.

Where does this leave my "break" you ask? Well, I think I'll say that it is back on again, but will admit that normal human weakness may make it difficult to maintain. To those that feel massageplanet.net would make me fall off the wagon, I honestly don't think it had anything to do with it... I've tried to quit smoking several times in the past 5 years, and have learned that sometimes it takes a few tries before you quit (fortunately this has been my one and only attempt with hobbying so far!).

I'd love to hear some of your opinions on this!
