Finishing strokes at the end of a year of school...

I graduate NHI a week from today. It has been an incredible journey; at times I wanted to give up and other times I wanted to do nothing but be in class.

Here's an account of a lovely session.

Tonight was transcendental. Supine hot stone work was the topic, but I worked in aromatherapy and energetic bodywork with gemstones selected to resonate with the chakras (black tourmaline, smoky quartz, turquoise, bismuth, astrophyllte and apophylite.) As I started working on my client in the classroom, the heat from the basalt stones enhanced the vibration of the gemstones opening my client's chakras to a level I've never experienced before. She was ready, I was ready, the energy was flowing...

Then goobers in class started banging roaster lids and laughing while they dropped stones.

Our sacred space was being crowded, so I curtailed the session, gently shifting her energy body as I zipped her back up making sure her chakras were connected.

After the session, my client reviewed tremendous energy shifts. She said she felt her legs connect with the rest of her energy body in a way that rarely happens. WooHoo!

What a wonderful gift the universe has provided! I am most grateful to all my teachers, especially Marja West.

Update:

Only three more classes to go!

Last night was our last regular bodywork class. The first auspicious sign was I won the lottery to be the demo.

After receiving the work from our mentor, I gave a session to another senior classmate. As I closed the session and the sacred space, I noticed a junior watching me...and crying. She mouthed, "I love you," as I closed the session. We've been through so much together, and the emotional energy of the space has me filled to my lower eyelids. One drop of additional emotional energy and my eyes start to leak...

Then I received a fantastic joint mobilization session from another senior. It was a lovely night!

I only have one regret. Someone very important to my path knows in his heart that I am filled with gratitude for his guidance and encouragement to follow this path. We've become estranged, but if I had the wherewithal to erase all the tender spots of interpersonal relationships, I'd do just that and reach out to say thank you. Maybe one day soon...

Next up for me after school? National certification, rest, teaching assistant, continued tutoring and lab instruction, private practice...

Update

So graduation was Wednesday, April 8. I couldn't have asked for a better evening. I was surprised that the school bestowed awards on me for student services and academic leadership on top of my graduation with honors. I struggle to let in positive recognition, but this was an opportunity to grow that I sorely needed. Soak it in, Randy...

Now that I've had almost a week to contemplate what's next, I have a few plans. I applied to take the MBLeX exam soon. I'm going to be a teaching assistant at my school. I'm hoping to pick up a spa job soon, student loans come due soon enough!
