So, you are not for lockdowns. Ok. I thought you were since you seemed to be saying something has to be done or we are fucked. Your amputation analogy is rough, but it kind of works, because I don't believe Omicron poses the kind of threat we are being told it does, but more importantly, even if it does pose that serious a threat, locking down until "it's over" is worse than the disease. Sorry if those last words sound a bit Trumpy, but like many others, they are nevertheless true.

Omicron spreads at a far greater rate than the other variants but to this point all indications are that it is also far less deadly. Everyone who wants the vaccine has had the opportunity to get it. The vaccines do not appear to in any way slow the infection, they just give the vaccinated a far better chance of avoiding serious illness or death. A lockdown can only (slightly) delay the inevitable. Everyone is going to be exposed to this thing and we might as well get it over with. Government and media are perpetuating a lie and that lie is that if we only obey their restrictions we can somehow avoid the spread of Omicron. We cannot and the remedy they're proposing is worse than the cure. If they wanted to do something useful they would A.) Speed the release of Pfizer's anti-viral as much as possible and B.) tell people to lose weight and get healthy.

When did I call Ontario Science Table a liberal conspiracy? They say we’re at 248 ICU patients. We have over 1000 beds and that number is growing. Regardless, it’s not the tax payers responsibility to care, or be penalized for any potential shortages.

But relying on CBC for unbiased information is delusional. Follow the money. They will never go against Trudeau’s narrative, after he gave them millions.

Working OT is a smart thing, especially at a good paying job like nurse. Just assumed you were smart, my bad.

Fauci and Walensky are not credible? Please tell me you know that bitchute is like YouTube and any content can be uploaded. If you watched the video you’d see them, Gates, Biden and others say if you get vaccinated you will not get infected or spread Covid. Unlike CBC, bitchute videos are independent and don’t have Trudeau funding.

So which of your claims should we believe? The vaccine works, or your prophecy of upcoming restrictions? The 2 aren’t simpatico. Like I said, I’m overjoyed that we’re locked down. I just didn’t believe that it would happen because it destroys the claims about vaccine efficacy. No one can honestly say the masks, vaccines, and mandates worked now. And amongst discerning people, I’m sure this move has exponentially increased vaccine hesitancy.

I believe the numbers, with a grain of salt, of course. We just found out in Brampton there was confusion in hospital reporting about “with Covid” compared to “of Covid”.

My fully vaccinated father got delta, and I’m very happy he was vaccinated. He recovered, and he’s fine. But, we’ll never know what would’ve happened otherwise. And I’m glad we didn’t have to find out.

But, compared to what we were promised, the vaccines didn’t deliver. If we were promised this current situation, I’m sure this discussion wouldn’t be happening.

This would not apply to the unvaccinated because the first thing they ask when you register in the hospital is if you have been vaccinated. The missing data would be if patient is partially or fully vaccinated, which vaccine or mix of vaccines they had. So counter to your point at minimum the fully vaccinated today accounted for 66% of the hospitalizations but it could be as high as 78%.

Ok, thanks for clarifying. I think I agree with everything you've said in that response, I just thought that the "if only the vaccines worked" comment went a bit far. They do in fact work, but it's not like pregnancy where you either are or are not pregnant. The vaccines work to lessen serious illness and death to a degree. Was that degree overstated? I think so. Did they claim the vaccines would prevent transmission....to a lesser degree maybe. Those video clips you refer to are easily taken out of context. I know it's possible to find Fauci et al saying things that they've clearly backtracked on, but it is important to remember they are human and in many if not all cases were speaking in terms of the overall group effect of the vaccines. They communicated badly but were not offering blanket guarantees.

What is your source for this rationale? I've looked at the Ontario science table dashboard and did not see any indication that there's an "unknown vaccination status" category of patients. It's also kind of amusing that even if one accepts your argument verbatim, the unvaccinated are still disproportionately represented.

Well said, I agree for the most part. I just don’t like rewriting history. What they said was what pushed some into getting it, where they wouldn’t have otherwise. There’s also the mandates that force many, based on what was said early on.

The vaccine, I assume, is doing something, but not sure how much. From my experience, I had close contact with both vaccinated and unvaccinated in the days before I had symptoms. I did contact tracing and no one I spoke to got Covid. Vaccine?

My parents live together and are fully vaxxed. My dad got it and my mom didn’t. Vaccine?

It is certain the vaccine does absolutely nothing for omicron, though. And there is even data to show the vaccinated are more susceptible. That’s understandable and makes sense. So why boost for protection against it?

Sorry man - numbers don’t lie - Look at numbers from the states where about 40% of the pop is unvaxed - the case there for the unvaxed has been clearly bad . Have you come across any large-number samples where the stats show otherwise

Have you got tested? You might already got it. It's airborne, there is no way you can stop it if you commute in the city and go to restaurants or shopping. Just stay fit and healthy, you will be fine.
I am pretty sure lots of those who had already got fully vaxed also got infected and walking around in malls and restaurants as asymptomatic carriers and spreading all over without knowing they're infected. Nobody was wearing masks in fully packed restaurants. All you need was one or two asymptomatic guy in there to spread Omicron to everyone through air vents.

Worrying too much about things you can't really control is like carrying umbrella with you all the time hoping it will rain.
