Can we take pictures in La Coahuila?

Recently a friend of mind was jammed up by the police for having pics of sg's in his cell phone...maybe his camera....but I think phone. He ended up losing some time and paying the police as he did not want to drag out the situation and get back to mongering. Now I have heard a million times that it is against the law to take pics of people in Mexico without permission and have known the local police to be very protective of the paraditas.

So I ran into an officer in a Caliente and asked him about it, and he said there was no such law. Basically he said some officers will take advaneforum.xxxe of tourists and try to make money off of them.

I felt he was right as you see folks taking pics on Rev all the time without hassle. If this was a law why would they let that go on and yet protect the prostitutes, which are thought to be the lowest form of life? I guess because the sex tourist is the lowest form.

Anyway if you take pics, expect to be confronted, and if you have time then stand your ground and demand to see a judge.

I see what you were trying to say about the Canadian border in relation to the Mexican side. Yesterday, again I wasn't checked for my electronic devices(phone). It was really packed coming back by foot if that says anything. I didn't see anyone get checked for electronic devices either. On the Mexican side La Marina didn't bother me. I have no idea why Mexican authorities haven't implemented this policy myself. It might be coming.

Is true what Escierto said. The first day they asked for passports I didn't have mine and I crossed the border with my buddies. The guy was a Latino and he gave me such a hard time. I had a bunch of documents. Birth certificate, driver's license, multiple Id's, even my social security(never showed it though). I take responsibilty for not having my passport with me but how do you think it made me feel when I saw and heard other people were passing with a driver's license with little to no hassle. Just yesterday I was hassled again by a Latino. Yup it kills me too.

That's exactly how that works. In South Texas, La Migra has checkpoints well into the interior of the state. We'd be driving down the road, me and my then wife and our four kids. The guy at the checkpoint would have a look as we approached and wave us on through without even stopping. Now with my Colombian wife and her three kids, we never get waved through. What kills me is many of the immigration guys at the checkpoints are Latinos themselves!

Many mongers do not understand that there is some profiling at the time you get to the US border.

Also, on the Mexican side, Americans are the ones that could potentially be checked to see what their cell phones are carrying.
I would be so much surprised that one of these days they really start cheking cams and cell phones on Americans to see what they have.

Well the Canadian border and its policies is just opening another can of worms. But I can only tell you about my experiences and what I see. We are both right that anyone can be searched because that's what the laws/policies say. But from what I see they are not applied equally to everyone.

I've crossed the border back to the states on foot and by car many times after the border patrol started searching electronic devices more carefully and I have yet to see anyone having their electronic devices being taken away by the border patrol.

I'm going to go a bit off topic here but let me just give you an idea of how US law/policies operate. When it comes to immigration guess who takes the brunt? Latinos do, we do. Everyone knows this and those who don't feel the heat just go, oh they're doing their job. Sometimes it's one group that feels the heat and sometimes is another group when it comes to US law/policies and that's the truth.

Nice articles. The reality of these laws/policies is that they only apply to certain individuals. For instance, Middle East Americans will no doubt be hassled by the Border Patrol/Customs. Even if it says Americans expect your electronic devices to be inspected thoroughly by the Border Patrol. Is not "true" because unless you look a certain way you will not be hassled. If you have a shady record(child molestor, drug trafficker) you will be hassled.

As a Mexican-American I get hassled way too much when I come back to the States even when I show them my passport. I mean come on they know what a legit passport looks like. It bothers me but it comes with the territory. Others at the border don't get this treatment. Racial profiling?

But just think about my circumstance. I get hassled a lot yet they've never taken away any electronics for further inspection. And just about all the time I cross the border I have my phone in hand. Of course it can cross their mind that I went to "La zona de tolerancia." And is very likely I may have pictures of sg's/bg's in my phone.

Is just that those laws/policies don't apply to me. I've actually crossed the border, walking, when it was just my buddies and me. All of us had our phones in hand and they said nothing. Those would be the perfect time. I mean they had nothing else to do so why not inspect our phones?

But if I was from Middle East descent they would probably take me to the interrogation room and that's the truth. Next time I'm going to dangle my phone their way and guess what's going to happen? Nothing.

Pretty delicate stuff here. I would say that those American guys coming back home who are being hassled by the authorities raise red flags. Maybe the authorities suspect them of a number of things. I know that authorities in the US don't really put a lot of time on soliciting as a whole compared to other crimes.

I don't know what kind of pictures the guy coming from Thailand had. And this is where it gets tricky. Maybe they did look underage which could get him in trouble. US authorities are working hard to bust Americans who travel overseas to solicit underage/child prostitution. You don't hear of authorities busting Americans who traveled outside the US to solicit.

If the pictures are of older women he can fight it and win. Yes I read somewhere that Americans cannot solicit overseas or in Mexico but I don't know if there is a way they can apply it to a monger. US authorities have no idea if it was consensual or not and without any money exchanging hands. You just have to be firm that it was consensual. And if there is a way to get off the hook when you have a ho next to you in your car while being stopped by LE in the US then this should be a piece of cake. They really don't have a case against you.

The sexting part and exchanging pictures online really has exploded. The best thing to do is to not keep any pictures of really young girls in your phone/computer even if she's 18. And I think that even if it's proven that the girl is of legal age whoever finds out about this will look at you differently. I mean even if you win it might feel like you lost. And yes I agree that first you are guilty before you are innocent and even then they will look at you like a predator.

Just look at what they were saying about Ben Roethlisberger when he was accused of rape. Americans were like what is he doing hanging out with college girls? American society is not very accepting of a man being with a young woman. And they were supposedly over 18, they can take care of themselves.

Remember that there has been a BIG hassle over laptops, and memory media carried by men coming into the States?
That they are subject to be checked if necesary? That if you refuse, you can go to jail???

I have those links somewhere, but it started with someone carrying pictures in a laptop he shot in Thailand.
He fought the fact so hard that a judge ruled and made it a precedent that memory media could be and can be subject to search by authorities.

This has become a big issue in the US due to sexting and sexual predators and teenagers that exchange pics online.
You now can be singled out as a sexual predator and you can be asked for proof of age of the pictures (sorry to come back to that term).
Legaly you'd have to prove that you took the pics in Mexico and your are forgetting that your laws prohibit you exactly that, go from the US to Mexico to solicit.

Come on GQ, this is the US in the 21st century... everyone in the US is now guilty till proven innocent.

In the US I would have to be guilty without a reasonable doubt and by looking at the pictures there is no way to prove the girl is underage(if this was the case). So I don't think I would get prosecuted in the US for carrying naked pictures around unless it was pretty obvious(child pornography or maybe borderline age pictures).

Besides I think is pretty common for guys to carry naked pictures of exes, girl friends, one night stands, ho's in their phones. I guess is not illegal in the US and I haven't heard of a case like this.

And in the US when you get stopped by the cops they usually check for weapons and drugs. They don't go through your phone or camera. In Mexico, cops check every inch of you and what you are carrying. I know this because I heard stories and I was once arrested for urinating in the streets of TJ(I know victimless crime). It was quite a nightmare.

This is one of the few instances where corrupt cops can actually work in your favor if you have the urge to snap some pictures of legal 18 and over putas, but do not have proof of age. IMO, not worth the risk to take naked pictures.

It is illegal in Mexico to carry pornographic material, not magazines or comercial movies, but personal stuff like pictures or videos.

But one thing GQ, it is as illegal in Mexico as it is in the US to have them in your posession without the now obligatory proof of age of those that apear in pics or movies.
On the spot they will tell you that unless you can provide ID, you will be slapped with child pornography and even people trafficking.

Horrible truth but it will happen in both countries.

For me is easy to say that next time I will take pictures of bg's when I'm in the comfort of my home. But in La Coahuila is another matter. I panic a bit and is because of la policia. I've never been hassled by la policia but you never know when that can happen.

I know the best thing to do is to bang them and forget about them. But isn't kind of bad that you won't remember all the juicy details about their pussy, tits, butt, face, or what have you unless you take pictures. In some ways is like it didn't happen because your memory can fail you.

Damn I would never attempt to walk back to the border at any time of day/night. Isn't a bit far? I agree is totally not worth it. Why risk it?

So you are saying that you would take a naked picture of a chica and not care what she thinks about what you may do with it? I'm not clear on that. BTW I read somewhere in a Mexico thread that it's illegal in Mexico to carry naked pictures and that this is enforced. For the purpose of this thread it's illegal in Mexico to take naked pictures of chicas. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Any truth to it?

Looking back, if I didn't worry about the police, and if I had a chance to take naked pictures of the girl I was formerly addicted to, I would not hesitate. I would even add in some Hustler-style "pink" pics. Don't be concerned about a puta because they don't give a fuck about you except your $$$.

About my friends getting caught with the police mentioned in an earlier post ... I think the only reason they got hassled was that they tried to walk back to the border late at night around 1am and were searched. Walking back at night time is never worth it. The few dollars you save in doing that 10 times will be wiped out in a single instance of having a corrupt cop take your money. If they had taken a cab, they wouldn't have been caught with naked pictures.

I have thought about taking pictures of bg's with their permission of course but once I'm there I talk myself out of it. Different things passed through my head. Like what if la Policia starts harassing me for some reason and they look at the pictures. They're going to know who they are and I just wouldn't want to deal with that.

Now sg's that's another matter. I've thought about it but not very serious about it. I imagined there would be repercussions and you guys have confirmed this. I would like to start an album but I would have to have bg's only perhaps.
