I remember visiting one of the "high-end" spas mentioned here and noticing three different cameras while on my way to the massage room. It freaked me out at the time, but then I remembered that morons like this guy and others like him with a criminal bent can really just walk into the spa, and that this needed to be done.

What that means is that spas don't really need to install cameras inside the rooms to get your ass if anything goes wrong, on top of the fact that its illegal. Especially right now with covid and "contact tracing", spas have more information about you than ever before, and probably safer as a result.

Cameras are only permitted at the front entrance as per by-law. I would assume they could stick one in the rear also.
Maybe by having a sign saying that they use cameras negates that by-law or it is like most spas that they ignore rules. Of course if you put up a sign saying cameras are being used, the assumption of privacy is greatly diminished.
