I visited Vladivostok on 5th Apr 2010.
Briefly this cith is not cheap any more.
I stayed Hyundai Hotel at rate of 200 US dollar/night.
If you wanna have quick bang, don't waste precious time in clubs or bar
Just go to Bannya(Sauna) and ask them to bring girls
If you wanna have great time in your residence, ask doorman to bring girls

the rate at Bannya 1hour 100 doller 2 hour 200 doller
at Hotel 1 hour 200 2 hou 400

But the quality of girl can't be compared to any other places around far east.
They are nice, kind, passionat and good looking

I am very envious ... with the US Navy out of town and many of the summer tourists (Chinese, Korean, Japanese) on the way out, you should be able to do quite well for yourself. You will find the locals very helpful and you should be able to score down at the Clubs ... or moving on to 'Dosug' ... i am sure that the place with the palm tree motif in the security grill is such a 'Club' ... enquire at the Izoomrood hotel anyway ... I think they have same owner ... but this info is second hand.

The Versailles Hotel or similar will set you up anyway ... you will be amazed at what is 'on offer' ... very helpful.

Seeing as there is such a lack of info on Vlad maybe you could scan some of the Dosug advertisements to show the uninitiated. Until recently I did have a couple of newspapers left over Reviewom my last trip but have thrown them out in a recent move.

I will look forward to your reviews as you have the time of your life (as i did!) .... then again, maybe we should not tell too many about the delights of this city! If you make it to Shamora, smile on my behalf please!

Same experience here without just NO information about Vladivostok at all. Plus the contradictory reviews.. people seem to be hooking up.. but I don't know how or what context.

Unbelieable this city has remained so off-the-track on ALL of these boards.

I am in proximity to Vladivostok and will definitely go there at some time in the future. I always look here on the forum for new information about the ins and outs (literally as well as figuratively) of Pacific Russia. What is missing is a detailed review giving the basic information: where, how much, how good, do's and don'ts. Some of the information in the posts are conflicting. Some say there is nothing, others say it is wide open, some say you got to know the lingo. I am an optimist and I want to believe the encouraging information and discount the other stuff. Please.....give us your advise and the benefit of all your experience. We will be very grateful.

Wish I was there too! Any where in the Far East between June and Oct is very pleasant ... first snows in Vlad in approx mid Nov ... when December arrives you cannot leave your peevo (beer) on the balcony!

You are right about Khabarovsk. A large city but not as interesting as Vlad ... there are some interesting places closer to Vlad but in the time you have available i am sure you will be no further than the airport or Arteom. Maybe you will take your bikini clad lady to Shamora for a day? The bar is a rip off though ... but the local shop and shaslick vendors are decent folk. Several nice basic massageplanetes which serve good meals at a reasonable rate (but make sure they cook the pork well. You will pay about about $50 or so for a single room with rough ensuite (where i have stayed). The bikini was the highlight of my trip.

You may be lucky to find a $50 room unless it is somewhere like I have prev described. As we speak there are 2 USN ships in town so many of the local lovelies will be cashing in on this opprtunity. By the time you get there the place will be ready to go again.

Anyway, good luck .. maintain your personal security ... especially when there are drunks around and you have one of their gorgeous Vlad ladies in tow... and I would be very interested to find out more about the palm tree gates (and what is behind them??) if you stumble on to them.

speaking of going further north.. was that "Khabarovsk"?

I was thinking of going there.. but its an overnight 13-hour train for US$50 one-way.. which makes me think its better to just stay in a US$50 Vladivostok hotel room instead. Plus wonder if it would be significantly colder inland and more northern in October?

City centre ... try Versailles Hotel ... and nite spots ... pick up the Reviewee newspapers and look for the pictures of gorgeous women and the word "dosug" = leisure (Club) ... there is also a spot called Bochka (= barrel).

An acquaintance of mine stayed at a lower end Soviet era hotel called Izoomrood (hope i got that correct) several years ago ... linked up with an employee there who also worked with an associated "Club" ... he could not remember the name but had a great time with his buxom selection in a very clean environment ...comfy chairs, sauna etc etc. he did recall that the steel security gates over the Reviewont door were embellished with what looked like palm trees ... and I guess it was not a long way Reviewom the hotel?? Maybe an atute taxi driver will be able to help Reviewom my miserable description.

There is some info on the net but certainly limited. I have been to Vlad a number of times and then went further North but i found it very interesting (and every time the US Navy was in town)

Going there VERY soon.. Sept.30.

As far as I know.. get centrally located. I'm looking at places right in the city for hotels.

But Reviewom there.. where are the clubs, bars, etc. Where to meet the locals?

What are others experiences.. what did others who've gone this way go.. or do.. etc. What was your impression of the city and its locals as well.

I'll come back and do a follow-up on this as well mpter my 1-week visit there. ANY feedback is appreciated.. direct experience (ideal).. or for this city, even hearsay or Reviewom a Reviewiend is just as good! So little information on Vladivostok anywhere on the web!
