Chiropractor pleads guilty to recording massage room clients in York City office - York Dispatch

A suspended chiropractor admitted he secretly recorded clients with a camera hidden in a massage room at his office in York City.

Tyler Mitcheltree, 29, of York Haven, pleaded guilty Monday to 21 of the 28 charges filed against him following an investigation last year. The counts in his plea were all misdemeanor offenses for invasion of privacy by recording people without consent, court records show.

Micheltree also pleaded no contest to a felony count of child pornography, a move that means he didn’t admit guilt on that charge but a judge can sentence him on it as if he was guilty.

Another felony count of recording a sex act of a minor was withdrawn, as were five further counts of invasion of privacy as part of the plea, court documents show.

York County Court of Common Pleas Judge Joseph Adams scheduled Aug. 21 for the hearing to sentence Mitcheltree. The date allows time for a pre-sentence investigation and a state sex offender registry assessment to be conducted for the court.

Mitcheltree was charged in October 2024 following a York City police investigation into a report that an employee found the recordings at Mitcheltree’s Motive Health office, 221 W. Philadelphia Street, one day that September.

The employee alleged that while using his mobile phone as part of her job to contact a patient, she saw an app that showed hidden camera video of a massage room, according to charging documents.

The app allegedly revealed multiple videos of women getting undressed as they prepared for massages.

Police investigated the office and found a digital clock with a camera hidden in it in one of the rooms. A remote control with images of cameras on the buttons was also found at the front desk, charging documents show.

Mitcheltree’s phone was confiscated, and during a search, a detective alleged finding 14 videos that showed women and one juvenile undressed either prior to or after receiving massages in the room, according to charging documents.

After Mitcheltree was charged, the Pennsylvania Board of Chiropractic temporarily suspended his chiropractic and adjunctive procedures licenses beginning Oct. 30.

He’s been free since he posted bonds on a $25,000 bail a few days after the charges were filed, court documents show.
