does anyone here work or employ chair massage therapists? how are you paid? generally speaking, the charge is $1/ per min but what do you pay your employees when they are waiting for the next client?

Whenever I contract out to other therapist I generally pay them on commission anywhere from 45 - 65% depending on the volume to be done or if they've worked with me before.

Usually there's no waiting for clients & since they are on commission it's not really costing you if there is any waiting.

We don't pay on a split basis - no reason for the therapist to wonder how much they are going to make, they know up front every time.We pay a fixed hourly rate, every hour they are there, regardless of if we have clients or not. It is our job to produce the clients, which is why we earn what we earn.Our rates range from $65 - $120 per hour, but we pay $35 or $40 if you bring your own chair (depending on the city).80% of the time, the therapists are earning $40 out of $70 or $75, and they get any tips offered by those who sit in the chair.
